Borovets is Bulgarias premier ski and nature resort with skiing and snow sports in winter and amazing hiking and walking in summer. Snow conditions are among the best in Eastern Europe and the season is long continuing well into April.
Ski Facts
Borovetz is located at 1350 above sea level (with the highest runs at 2600m), on the Northern slopes of Rila mountain. The resort has facilities for skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, ski jumps and biathlon, ski-doo, etc, and has twice hosted World Cup competitions in Alpine skiing. Its biathlon track is one of the best in Europe. Usually the slopes of Borovetz have permanent snow cover from December to April.
There are ski runs available for beginners, intermediates and advanced skiers, designed with international markings and multilingual signs. Runs are groomed to the highest standards. The ski runs of Borovetz are located in three different areas. Cross-country and biathlon tracks are located 2km away from the resort together with the cross-country tuition tracks. The runs for the ski jumps are 75m and 50m long and are serviced by a chair lift. New snow cannons for artificial snow are also provided in Borovetz. The ski patrol provides 24 hour emergency service.

Snow cannons: 2 km of ski runs covered by six snow cannons.

Snow boarding Try the Rotata half-pipe. With a vertical drop of 320 meters, the run was designed to satisfy both advanced riders in its upper end and beginners in its lower end. To make your snowboarding even more enjoyable the Rotata is equipped with its own drag lift.

Apres Ski:The night life is excellent at this resort. Borovets is full of bars, cafes, night clubs, discos. Most of them work till the early morning, and offer good prices and special happy hour discounts. Music played is mostly international dance music. Very often special shows are presented at the clubs. There are restaurants and taverns with Bulgarian national folk music and horo dancing, which most people find very entertaining.
