Ski Facts
A penthouse above Aosta, a hollow filled with fir and larch woods; Pila is an all-round skiing resort with everything needed to enjoy your sport, or more worldly pleasures. In addition to offering you a sweeping view of the Alps from Mont Blanc to the Grand Combin and from the Matterhorn to Monte Rosa, Pila is where you never need to trudge around with your skis on your shoulders.

Pila is a modern resort. You are free to roam over an area with 70 km of pistes just beyond your doorstep.

Twelve ultramodern lifts, moving 18.900 persons an hour will speed you up to where you want to go (Grimod, Couis1, Couis 2, Liaison, Nouva and Grimondet chairlifts have a new conveyer belt, just for you). Skiing in Pila is ever more convenient and exciting.
Pila keeps surprising and at the start of the winter season it offers loads of novelties that will certainly be appreciated by sport lovers.

This year the ski runs, the pride of our Ski Resort, have been restyled and improved. At Leissé gare (n. 12 skirama), works concerned the lower part of the piste and lead to the completion of the run. Plan Perdu (n. 4 skirama), a red piste that people will enjoy more and more, has been extended and improved. The modernisation of the upper part of piste n? 1 (Chamolé), the first to be created in the Ski Resort, has lead to the reopening of the entire historical ski run which will allow you to live the emotions of the first skiers in Pila. A conveyor belt has replaced the Baby Gorraz chair lift, to make things easier for beginners. The last ski-lift left in Pila, the Baby Pila has ?retired? and has been replaced by a conveyer belt made in two sections. It will serve both the downhill piste and an area for bobsleighing and sledging. Going up ad down has never been so pleasant and such fun.

But this is not all that has been accomplished. The chair-lifts will be more comfortable. Now a total of three have padded seats, the ones that were appreciated at the Nouva and the Leissé and which have now been fitted on the Chamolé chair lift. Reascending will be more relaxing and comfortable. The Aosta-Pila cable car has been completely renovated and modernized, making it even quicker to get onto the slopes of Pila from Aosta.

The Breuil-Cervinia Valtournenche Zermatt district is one of the largest in the Alps, with a varied ?domaine skiable? beyond compare, which stretches through three valleys in two countries, Italy and Switzerland, from the 3,883 m of the Piccolo Cervino descending to the 1,524 m of Valtournenche.
350 km of ski runs offering the chance to ski all day without ever repeating the same run twice, alternating easier runs with those of increasing difficulty.
The renewal of the ski area during the 2006/2007 season has contnued, and 7 new lift systems are currently operational.

The ski area in figures: Altitude of Breuil-Cervinia: 2,050 m / Altitude of Valtournenche: 1,524 m
