Official Rating - n/a - Bed & Breakfast The small, family run Pension Schipflinger, located in the small village of Itter, offers a convenient and uncomplicated base from which to explore, and take advantage of the fabulous facilities and activities available in the Skiwelt Region. Accommodation & Facilities Owned and run by the friendly Schipflinger family, this pension has a total of eight guest bedrooms and features a bright breakfast room. All bedrooms are traditionally furnished and have shower, toilet and balcony; and some can accommodate 3 persons. Guests will enjoy an extended continental breakfast. Location The Schipflinger is located approximately 400 metres from the centre of Itter, which lies just 7 kilometres from larger Soll, in the Skiwelt Region. Itter, while of the beaten track, has good transport links with surrounding villages and towns. Resort Information & Things to Do The tiny Tyrolean village of Itter is surrounded by stunning scenery and rolling green pastures; it lies at the foot of the mighty Hohe Salve Mountain. Activities available in the local region include: Walking and Hiking: Idyllic valleys, soft hills, steep mountains ? the Skiwelt region is a diverse walking and hiking paradise with over 400 kilometres of marked paths for all standards. The tourist office in adjacent Soll arranges several guided walking tours each week. For those who are less energetic, an excellent system of 14 lifts, cable cars and mountain railways interlink the area. A Lift and Walking Pass, valid on all 14 lifts in the villages of the region (including Soll, Scheffau, Ellmau, Going, Brixen im Thale, Hopfgarten, Itter and Westendorf) can be purchased locally. A free bus service, the Kaiserjet, connecting the villages of Itter, Soll, Scheffau, Ellmau and Going, operates from mid June to September. Hexenwasser, or Witches Water, is a magical water theme park, half way up the Hohe Salve Mountain above neighbouring Soll. The park features a 450 metre long water-themed walk, with various pools, a water maze and water wheels. It leads to some traditional mountain restaurants offering local specialities, such as home baked bread and locally made cheese. Itter has a small outdoor swimming pool complex with a pleasant sun bathing area and Soll boasts a fabulous swimming and leisure centre, the ?Panoramabad?. This features indoor and outdoor swimming pools, children?s pool, sauna and sun bathing lawns. The scenic Moorsee lake, is approximately 1 kilometre from the centre of Soll, and is a popular place for both swimming and fishing (licence required). The Salvenaland bathing lake, in nearby Hopfgarten (5 kilometres), also has a beach volleyball court and is perfect for all the family. Cycling, mountain biking, outdoor tennis, squash, horse riding, mini-golf and bowling also available either in Itter, Soll or Hopfgarten. The 27 hole Wilder Kaiser Golf Course and the 9 hole Kaisergolf mountain course are located in nearby Ellmau (16 kilometres up the road and easily reached by both ?Kaiserjet? and local bus services). A great range of day excursions to nearby places of interest may be booked in nearby Soll. Destinations include Grossglockner (Austria?s highest mountain), Krimml Waterfalls (Europe?s highest waterfall), historical Salzburg, the Tyrolean provincial capital of Innsbruck, famous salt mines, scenic lakes, impressive castles and palaces. Itter?s amenities include a bank, small grocery shop and sport shop. A wider range of services including post office, doctors, supermarkets and gift shops can be found in both Soll and Hopfgarten. A local bus service operates from Itter to neighbouring villages and to the town of Worgl, boasting good shopping and from where the main line train service is available. A pleasant selection of cafes, restaurants and bars can be found in the neighbouring villages of Soll and Hop
