The historical facade completed with terra-cotta tiles and French windows that overlook the street and city, the hotel is unmistakable with bright yellows and whites. There is a courtyard in front surrounded by the courtyard rooms.
Rooms are between 25-28 square metres, are brightly lit with muted colors. There are hints of the local Malay and Chinese influence on the doors and furnishing, including the old style round brass switches and teakwood furniture. The windows overlook either Little India or the city. Bathrooms are furnished in white with pretty pastel tiles and equipped with shower baths. Amenities include an in-room safe. Windows are soundproofed. Although all rooms are air conditioned, a ceiling fan is standard for that tropical feel.
Albert Cafe reminiscent of the coffee shop of old with wooden flooring, French chairs and marble tables, serves an array of Western, Indian and local cuisines. Shish Mahal North Indian and Nepalese Restaurant on the lobby level serves zesty Indian cuisine.
The lobby is located on the second floor up the escalators. The medium sized lobby also has a small bar with ample seating facing the check in counter.
Located within walking distance from historical Little India, the hotel was built on a conservation plot with its surrounding old shophouses. Next door is the world famous electronics super mall Sim Lim Square. Across the street is the charms of Little India and about 10 minutes away is the 24 hrs Mustafa Shopping centre also famous for its electrical goods. The MRT stop is Little India and is about 5 minutes walk to connect to the rest of the island.
