A good alternative to clients enroute to Freiburg and an excellent historical hotel in the luxurious town of Baden Baden. 0209SR.
The hotel consists of two interconnected buildings, one old one which was originally a monastery dating from 1809 and a new one built in the 1970's.
The bedrooms are large and tastefully furnished. The style of the decoration depends on their location in the hotel, those in the older part of the hotel that was originally an monastery, are more traditional in style and in good condition, whilst those in the newer part are more up to date in design and in very good condition. The bathrooms in both parts are in very good condition.
There is one large international restaurant called the "Park Restaurant". It is very traditional in style with mirrored columns, and matching soft furnishings in shades of white and yellow. The hotel also has a Jokey Bar which is decorated in traditional English smoking lounge decor with dark leather robust furnishings.
The large lobby is in the newer part, fairly modern in decor and is four floors high with daylight flooding in through the high glass front. Not far from it is the "saeulenhalle", an impressive traditional style grand hall with a double staircase and large columns which relates to the central construct of the old building.
This hotel enjoys a central but peaceful location close to the spa gardens, the casino and some of Germany's most exclusive shopping. The train station is 5 kilometers away and it is 8 kilometers to the motorway.
