The Solvang Gardens Lodge was the first motel in Solvang, built in 1950 when few people even knew that Solvang existed. It was fashioned after a classic Danish farmhouse and placed in an idyllic location on the fringe of the village, overlooking the rolling hills of the Alisal Guest Ranch and the Santa Ynez River. Because of its lovely garden setting, the name of the motel was changed in 1999 to the Solvang Gardens Lodge. A Continental Plus breakfast is included with room rate. Breakfast is served from 7:30 till 10:00am in the Breakfast Room. All rooms are non-smoking and telephone free. The lodge now offers wireless internet for the computer saavy. The Lodge has a hidden backyard garden is available to all guests, complete with fruit trees for you to enjoy and a quaint spa cottage.
