Built in the medieval times as a resting place for the packhorse trains that carried goods between the farmers and miners on Dartmoor and the trading towns closer to the coast, today it offers comfortable, well equipped bedrooms and a home cooked breakfast, with all dietary needs catered for. Should you wish to eat we have a wide range of fresh local produce home cooked meals to chose from. And at a tangent to tradition our chef is fast making a name for himself with his pizza specialities.The property is ideally located in the centre of the historic village of South Brent close to the A38 Devon Expressway, halfway between Exeter and Plymouth. The Packhorse is great for hikers, with convenient access to Dartmoor, and 15 minutes to the seaside. Bring the rod, as its also a good spot for fishing! Ample free parking for guests. If you wish to bring your own bike we have dry storage to store them.The Stables Tea Room is part of the Inn. We serve pastries finished by Claire who is a professional confectioner and other home made meals along with a lovely range of cakes.We are happy to accommodate Walkers on Sundays with afternoon teas, cakes, etc.Please contact us with your requirements.Picnics available with 24 hours notice.
