Macleay Island is sheltered in the vast marine park of Moreton Bay. It is rich in native flora and fauna, edged with mangrove foreshores and sandy beaches, providing respite from the outside world. An eco-tourism dream and bird watchers nirvana, the island offers a variety of experiences. The calm waters are great for swimming, fishing, sea kayaking and snorkeling. Visitors can enjoy gourmet breakfasts, champagne sunsets, al fresco dining, arts & crafts or curl up with a book and just relax. To reach the island you catch a water taxi or vehicle barge from the seaside suburb of Redland Bay. The Water taxi is located at the southern end of Banana Street and it takes approximately 15 minutes to reach Macleay Island. The Vehicle Barge is Macleay Island is approximately an hour from both Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Rates are based on double occupancy. Charges for extra adults may apply and will be due directly to the hotel.
