Accommodation & Facilities The Residence, only a stones throw from the centre of the resort, is made up of two buildings, linked together by an overhead shopping arcade. Both our one or two bedrooms apartments have, equipped kitchenette (electric hotplate,fridge, mixed traditional/ microwave oven, dishwasher) and bathroom with toilet The complex has a small indoor swimming pool, outdoor car park, sauna ( at a charge). Our guests can request at a charge, TV, baby equipment rental, final cleaning, launderette and indoor car parks. Also at a charge our guests can bring their pet with them. Guests should note that there is a tax per adult per night paid locally and that bed and bathroom linen are provided. A refundable deposit paid locally and returned after departure is required. Location Pralognan la Vanoise, at the heart of the national park, and capital of this region, is situated at an altitude of 1418 m. Ski Facts A warm and welcoming resort village, Pralognan-la-Vanoise has wonderful ski slopes that reflect its reputation. Ski through a natural landscape, home of the chamois and the ibex. A magnificent setting, at the foot of Grande-Casse and in the heart of the Vanoise National Park. The ski slopes of Pralognan stretch from 2350 m to 1400 m above sea level. Snow cover is very good thanks to the nearby Vanoise glaciers. In addition, artificial snow cover is maintained by 50 snow cannons, from 2350 m to the resort. The resort offers a complete range of slopes for skiers of all levels: For beginners: Mont-Bochor and in the village, the ski slopes of Barioz and Poucet. For good skiers: slopes through forest and over bumpy ground. For experienced skiers: corridors and powdery snow in Pariettes Coomb. Resort Information Before the 19th century, Pralognan lived off rearing animals. Our ancestors cleared this land to make pastures for their animals and cut hay for the long winter months. Agriculture was not easy; rye was the only crop that grew. At the end of spring, the animals and their masters returned to the high mountain pastures: this was called the emmontagnée. Many vestiges of this era are still visible such as the rudimentary arbé chalets, the chalets in the mountain pastures, the cellars, the hay barns, the tracks and a natural environment that is still nurtured by our farmers and their herds.
