Official Rating - 3 * - Half Board Strasshofer is a small, traditional hotel, Strasshofer dates back to the 13th Century. The hotel offers friendly welcoming and comfortable accommodation situated in a wonderful location. The charming hostess, Gabi Strasshofer, takes great pride in the hotel and has individually decorated each of the bedrooms with handmade furniture and fine antiques. Accommodation and Facilities The Hotel Strasshofer features 22 individually styled bedrooms and apartments, all decorated with the finest attention to detail. Some bedrooms can accommodate 3 persons and all feature private bath or shower, toilet, hairdryer, telephone and satellite television. Complimentary safe facilities are available at the reception. Public areas include a ground floor lounge, 1st floor reception, a cosy hotel bar and two traditional dining Stüberl. The hotel also features a sauna (free once per week) and a solarium (local cost). Guests will enjoy a buffet breakfast and an excellent 3 course evening meal with daily salad buffet. The hotel also arranges a weekly speciality Tyrolean Farmers? Buffet evening. Location The Hotel Strasshofer is ideally situated, just off the pedestrian centre of Kitzbuhel, in the medieval Vorderstadt. All major resort facilities and amenities are located close by. The train station, which offers connections to the mainline service, is approximately 300 metres away. Resort Information & Things to Do Although probably best known for the famous Men?s Downhill Ski Race on the Hahnenkamm in winter, the lively and sophisticated resort of Kitzbuhel is an excellent destination for a summer holiday and offers something for everyone ? friendly atmosphere, stunning scenery and great golfing and sporting facilities. The unique magical ambience of the town, twinned with the seemingly endless sporting activities combine to deservedly make Kitzbuhel one of the top European holidays destinations. Activities available locally include: Golf: Kitzbuhel is known as The Alpine Golf Centre, boasting 5 golf courses including the Eichenheim, Kitzbuhel Kaps, Golf & Country Club Larchenhof, Kitzbuhel Schwarzsee and Golf & Landclub Ramushof. They offer a total of 54 holes. Further 18 golf courses are located in the vicinity. Novice golfers are recommended to take lessons at the Golf School or Academy. Mountain Biking: Kitzbuhel and the surrounding resorts of Reith, Aurach and Jochberg offer 750 kilometres of sign-posted paths and trails which lead across picture book landscape and lush green meadows. Those looking for an adrenaline kick should head for the Kitzbuheler Horn peak. Nordic Walking: the latest trend sport for all the family! A Nordic Walking Fitness Park, perfect for novice walkers, has been opened in Jochberg and offers a range of routes for all ages and levels of ability. Hiking: The entire Kitzbuhel region is ideal for walkers and hikers, offering approximately 500 kilometres of marked routes for all ages and standards. The Kitzbuhel Tourist Office offers free guided walking tours regularly during the summer months. Swimming and Watersports: Visit the scenic Schwarzsee Lake on the outskirts of Kitzbuhel, one of the Alps most beautiful swimming lakes. Electric boats area also available giving one quick access to one of the lakeside café terraces. The lesser known and very romantic Geringer Weiher, a moor pond found in the woods near Reith, offers a more peaceful location. One can also take advantage of the Aquarena indoor swimming pool complex in the centre of Kitzbuhel. Horse riding, tennis and rock face climbing are also available.
