Built in the 1860's as a private home the Royal Ettrick was converted into a hotel in the 1940's and today is one of Edinburgh's finest small hotels. The Royal Ettrick is situated in a quiet location yet is only 5 minutes from Haymarket train station by car/taxi. The residential area of Polwarth is a leafy suburb of the city and is supported by an excellent public transport system. This makes it a great location from which to explore Edinburgh's major attractions.
This traditional hotel offers 19 spacious refurbished guestrooms that are elegantly decorated and tastefully furnished. The rooms are all accompanied by an extensive range of standard equipment for your comfort and convenience. Specially adapted rooms with disabled access are also available.
Home cooked Scottish cuisine is served in the conservatory restaurant which overlooks the hotel's private garden. All major sporting events are shown in the bar, which is frequented by locals and visitors alike. The hotel is non-smoking in all areas, including all rooms.
