The hotel, once the guest quarters for the Ducale Palace, has been sleekly renovated, but impressive features of its past are seen throughout with massive thick walls, high vaulted ceilings, and stone archways. On the fourth level of the hotel there is a romantic garden with one side enclosed by a carved stone balustrade, where you can gaze out to a beautiful panoramic view. The hotel is the annex of the Ducale Palace, where the Duke of Montefeltro used to welcome his own guests. In 1997 the building was completely restored and became the historical and beautiful hotel which it is today.
All rooms have been cared for with particular attention to detail, from the choice of antique furniture to a rich collection of paintings and prints. The style evokes the ancient times. Pastel shades and colour give a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere.
Breakfast is served in the bar Ducale while when the weather permits, it is served in one of the most beautiful Piazzas in Italy, Piazza della Signoria where you can enjoy a magnificent view onto the valley. The restaurant La Taverna del Lupo, which is walking distance from the hotel, is managed by the same family and is one of the finest restaurants in Italy. In fact, in 1998 the Taverna del Lupo won the prestigious 5 Star Diamond award.
