This Pousada was originally a 15th century monastery built on the foundations of an ancient castle and is entered through courtyards of sweet smelling orange trees.
The bedrooms are small but in very good condition and are in fact conversions from the original monastic cells. They are traditionally furnished and the floors are tiled. The bathrooms are small though adequate and in very good condition.
Opens onto a sun filled manueline cloister glassed in with vaulted ceiling and marble font overlooking the courtyard. It is medium in size and can seat a maximum of sixty guests. It serves traditional and regional meals.
The lobby is medium in size with rich marble floors and period furniture including a large antique table. The bar area at the back of the lobby gives extra space for group check-in.
The hotel is situated in the ancient city of Evora across from the famous Roman temple of Diana.
