This is a traditional eight-storey hotel built in 1930 and situated on 11 acres.
Guest rooms are spacious and formal in decor, and offer all the modern conveniences.
The restaurant is located off the grand foyer where an imperial staircase leads to a stunning dining room drenched with natural light. Floral arrangements and ferns adorn this formal salon, with its ivory coloured walls and lead glass mirrors and French doors. Seasonal outdoor dining is served on the terrace that overlooks an elegant courtyard reminiscent of celebrated European gardens. The menu is varied. The renowned Marquee Bar and Lounge serves cocktails in an intimate atmosphere, with plush leather seating and dark wood panelling. There is also a cafe for convenience.
The lobby is very large and elegant complete with marbled floors, columns and chandeliers. There is plenty of seating as well as private alcoves.
The hotel is located near the centre of the city in one of Washington's most elegant neighbourhoods. It overlooks 11 scenic acres of hiking, biking, and horse-riding trails in Rock Creek Park. The National Zoo of Washington DC is also within walking distance.
