Old Repeater Station Hotel Information

Hadrian's Wall was designated a World Heritage Site in 1987 and is the most important monument built by the Romans in Britain. It is the best known frontier in the entire Roman Empire and stands as a reminder of one of the world's greatest civilisations. Located closely is The Old Repeater Station, a large detached stone building near the most scenic part of Hadrian's Wall. The Old Repeater Station offers 3 star Visit Britain rated guest accommodation in the heart of a National Park within Northumberland. It is just 200 yards from Hadrian's Wall and provides an excellent base to explore the beautiful scenery and historic sites of Northumberland. Located within Northumberland National Park with easy access to the Lake District and Kielder Reservoir, The Old Repeater Station is well situated for a visit to Northumberland.Hadrian's Wall is ten minutes away and the famous sites of Houseteads and Vindolanda are both within four miles. The historic market towns of Hexham and Haltwhistle are within eight miles. We are ideally situated for walkers and cyclists due to our close proximity to Hadrian's Wall. Drivers can leave their car here if preferred to visit sites along the Wall. The Hadrian's Wall bus service which calls at all the main Roman sites passes the front door. The Old Repeater Station is unique, a large detached stone building with a slate roof. The property makes extensive use of eco / green technology including geothermal heating and wood burning stoves. Our water comes from a private source for domestic usage and also heats the building via a ground source heat pump. Also provided at The Old Repeater are a licensed bar, cafe facilities, packed lunches, lunch and dinner. Lifts can be arranged to your walking point.
