The Lord Crewe Arms is a picturesque Grade II listed, 4 star inn, originally built in the 12th Century as a Monastery founded by Premonstratensian Monks. The hotel is situated in the listed village of Blanchland, which is set in the beautiful Derwent Valley in the heart of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Surrounded by Moorlands and Woods, Blanchland is one of Northumberland's most picturesque villages built as it is round a village square and little altered for over 250 years. The location is ideal for the pursuit of several outdoor activities including sailing fishing on the Derwent reservoir, clay pigeon shooting and walking. The location also provides an excellent touring base for the North East with attractions like Hadrian's Wall, Durham University, Durham Castle and Cragside all within 30 minutes drive away. The market villages of Corbridge and Hexham are just minutes away and the metro centre of Newcastle is also just 35 minutes drive away. Small domestic pets allowed. Children welcome.
