- Directions: From London and the South of England, take the M1 or M40 to Birmingham and the M6. The M6 motorway also offers easy access from Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester to the south and Carlisle and Scotland to the north. Leave the M6 motorway at Junction 36 and follow the A591 to its first turn off leading to the A590. Keep on the A590 till Newby Bridge, As you pass through Newby Bridge there is a round about, go straight on at the round about and take the first right to Hawkshead. Follow this road till you reach Lakeside about 1 mile then drive through lakeside passing the Lakeside Hotel on your right and a group of houses on your left. The hotel is 200 metres further on from the last group of houses, on the left hand side.
