Built in 1763 by John Rutledge, a signer of the US Constitution, the John Rutledge House Inn is located approximately three blocks from Charleston's historic market area. It is also two miles from downtown Charleston and the city marina, five miles from Patriots Point, 12 miles from Folly Beach, and 15 miles from Sullivan's Island.
The antebellum home is now an elegant bed-and-breakfast where guests can enjoy afternoon tea, evening turndown, morning pastry delivery, and wine and sherry in the ballroom where patriots, statesmen, and presidents have met. Complimentary wireless Internet access is also available.
The Inn has 19 rooms in three buildings. All have antiques, historic reproductions, and a variety of amenities. Rates are based on double occupancy. Charges for extra adults may apply and will be due directly to the hotel. Please note there is a $12.00 parking fee for this property.
