The Ioannis hotel is located in Skala Panagia. The village of Panagia was built on the side of the mountain Ipsarion and once was the capital of the island (1845) with its own currency. It took its name from the church of Panagia (Virgin Mary) build in 1832 and celebrated on 15th of August. The natural springs with crystal waters running through the village and the traditional houses makes the village picturesque. From the village of Panagia a road leads to Skala Panagia which resides on the north end of a three km long beach well known as Golden beach.
