Accommodation and Facilities The Hotel Handl is a small hotel where traditional Tyrolean charm is combined with some contemporary features. It features a pleasant reception, dining room, a la carte restaurant and house bar. The 26 bedrooms are fitted with shower, toilet, hairdryer, telephone, radio and satellite television. Some rooms also have a balcony and internet access, and can accommodate up to 3 persons. There is also sauna and infrared cabin with relaxation area. Massages can be arranged and a solarium is available for a local cost. The half board arrangement includes buffet breakfast and a 3 course evening meal with choice of main course. Once per week the hotel arranges a special Tyrolean Buffet Evening (guests staying for less than one week may not receive this). Location The Hotel Handl is located in the centre of Schonberg, just approximately 15 minutes from the provincial capital city of Innsbruck. They valley boasts many majestic peaks, glaciers and unique panoramic views. Ski Facts Schonberg lies 8 kilometres from the Schlick 2000 skiing area, which is in Fulpmes, in the Stubai Valley. State of the art lifts whisk one up to a breathtaking Alpine panorama. The Schlick 2000 area is well protected from the wind and has an excellent snow record. The area boasts a 2400 metre long run back to the valley, which is fully covered by artificial snow making facilities (should they be required!). All guests staying in the Stubai Valley receive a guest card from their accommodation which entitles one, during certain periods, to a 10% reduction on the normal lift pass prices (to be shown on purchase). Lift passes can be either purchased for the Schlick 2000 area only, or alternatively, the Stubai Superski Pass is valid on all lifts in the Stubai Valley (including the Stubai Glacier), and includes free entrance to the indoor swimming pool complexes in Neustift and Fulpmes. A free ski bus service operates from Schönberg via Mieders and Fulpmes to the Schlick 2000 valley lift station. The Stubai guest card also enables guests to use the public bus service throughout the entire valley, free of charge.
