The hotel is very popular during the summer months as hundreds flock to Gretna to be married. It is also a good base from which to explore the Lowlands and Dumfriesshire countryside MT-07/06.
The original building dates from 1710 and modern extensions have been added.
The rooms are traditionally furnished and are comfortable and functional.
There is a dining room to cater for individuals and groups, often wedding parties. The bar serves light snacks.
