Accommodation & Facilities All apartments have a fully equipped kitchen area, with an electric stove, refrigerator, mini-oven or oven (except in the studios), and dishwasher. There are also a bathroom or shower room, WC (separate in some apartments), direct phone line, a TV jack (TV is available at a charge) and a south-facing, balcony. All apartments are served by elevator. The residence can provide to its guests at a charge, towels and sheets, child?s bed and housekeeping. Animals are admitted at an extra charge. Guests should note that there is a tax per adult per night paid locally and a refundable deposit paid locally and returned after departure is required. Apart from skiing the guests may participate into numerous winter leisure activities as, kart cross on an ice racetrack, snow scooters, snake gliss, snowshoeing, heli-skiing, night skiing, aqua valley in Isola village. There are also a skating rink, bars, night clubs, and restaurants. Location At an altitude of 1800m to 2610m this is a ski resort par excellence where you never have to take your skis off, ISOLA 2000 will draw you in with its mix of cultures and influences from the French Riviera, Provence, and neighboring Italy as well as the charm of its surroundings, fine food, and warm and smiling hospitality. Ski Facts Isola 2000 is the first ski area in the Southern Alps to cover more than 2,000 hectares. The area is nestled in a circle formed by 15 summits, which tower between 2,450 and 2,974m. The skiing domain at Isola comprises 47 slopes in total, a generous choice of chair lifts and ski tows, as well as a cable car and a funicular railway, ensure that skiers are kept on the move. Cross-country skiing through the larches at an altitude of 2,000m is very popular. Other activities include: riding snow scooters, go-karting on ice, heli-skiing and the latest trend ? ski-jöring (a combination of horseback riding and skiing!). With 120kms of pistes, abundant doorstep beginners? slopes, 16 red runs and 5 black runs, skiers of all abilities are well catered for. In fact, the resort has some of the best and longest beginners? runs around, all at resort level, with perfect wide-open slopes. After having gained rapid confidence, you then have a mouth-watering choice of intermediate and advanced slopes on both sides of the valley, with some great wooded, off-piste runs for intermediates and advanced skiers especially after fresh snow (Check avalanche warnings before venturing off-piste). Note that Isola 2000 is not linked to other Mercantour resorts, but is within driving distance of Auron, Valberg and SuperSauze. The season begins in late November and runs until May.
