A quaint boutique style hotel in picturesque Chinatown, which is ideal for visitors who want to see the local lifestyle. sg 01/08.
The beige exterior is understated and blends in well with the surrounding shop houses. Some windows look down on the street.
The rooms are almost all different in size and shape. They are simple but clean with individual air-conditioning units. All rooms come with 1 queen bed or 2 single beds and all have yellow and green strip bed cover. The bathrooms are simple with tiled floors and walls and standing shower. Some of the rooms are without window; due to room size constraint triple rooms are not recommended.
There is no restaurant; simple breakfast is served at the reading room next to the lobby. However, coffee shops and restaurants are abundantly available on the street day and night.
Being a heritage building, the hotel has to comply with the conservation requirement in keeping the 2 panel wooden front door, which separates the hotel from the busy street outside. The automatic wooden door opens up to a small cosy lobby with the receptionist welcoming you on your arrival. It has yellowish white marble flooring and reception counter. There are rooms to the left and right with settees and dining tables for meals or just lounging around. A small elevator sits next to the reception.
Located in the heart of the Chinatown heartland, in conservation pre-World War II shop houses, the hotel sits amidst the quaint and postcard scene of five foot walkways, coffee shops and activity filled streets; day and night.
