Located in the heart of the historic district of Charleston, the Best Western King Charles Inn abounds in grand Southern tradition and ambiance. Eighteenth century charm is present with the inn's warm and gracious atmosphere. Part of the Best Western King Charles Inn's illustrious past was originally as the Pavilion Hotel (circa 1830). The Best Western King Charles Inn was the gathering spot of area artisans and artists, including Edgar Allan Poe, then a soldier for the Fort Moultrie.

Guest rooms feature period reproductions, including poster beds and armoires, as well as cable TV, high speed wireless Internet access, telephone with dataport, coffeemaker, and iron and ironing board. Each of our 91 guest rooms are now appointed with luxurious, dark wood furniture, and new Simmons Beauty Rest mattresses with plush bedding. We have also added refrigerators in all guest rooms and are in the process of adding in room safes as well as flat screen televisions and iPod docking stations. Please note that between August 4th, and September 15th we will be remodeling 30 additional rooms with new walls, ceilings, bathrooms and carpeting. The final remodeling phase of 30 rooms will be under renovation from December 1, 2008, to February 15, 2009.
