This is a good hotel for budget travellers (SB 03/08).
It is a plain stone building.
The rooms are quite large and traditionally decorated, with ceramic tile flooring. The curtains and bedspreads have a floral design. The toilet is in a separate room from the bathroom (typical in Morocco).
The restaurant is situated on the top floor, at the rear of the hotel. It has a dark wooden floor and corresponding dark heavy furniture.
The lobby is small, but it opens out onto seating area and outside courtyard whose centrepiece is a sparking fountain. Arabic style tiles and traditional designs can be seen in all the public areas. The original building is located at the rear, housing a bar named after Winston Churchill, which is well kept and in almost original condition.
In the centre of the Medina area, this building used to be the British Embassy and residence of Winston Churchill during the Second World war when visiting this ancient city.
