Accommodation & Facilities The Hotel Austria features 40 bedrooms, all of which have recently been fully renovated in modern Tyrolean style, with pale solid wood furniture and light tones. Some rooms can accommodate 3 persons and all feature shower, toilet, hairdryer, telephone, cable television and balcony or terrace. Complimentary safe facilities are available at the reception. Public areas include reception, 1st floor hotel bar, dining room with bar and small terrace. Internet access is also available for a small local charge. Meal arrangements include an extensive buffet breakfast and in the evenings guests will be served a three course meal with choice of main course plus a daily salad buffet. Location The Hotel Austria is centrally located in Soll, approximately 100 metres from the small pedestrian centre and 900 metres from the Panoramabad swimming pool complex. Resort amenities including banks, shops and cafes lie within 100 metres of the hotel. Resort Information & Things to Do The charming village of Soll lies in a wide sunny valley, between the majestic Wilder Kaiser Mountain Range and the mighty Hohe Salve Mountain. Surrounded by stunning scenery and rolling green pastures, this charming village is one of the most popular mountain destinations in Tyrol. Local traditions are still very much alive with festivals and parades being part of everyday summer life. Activities available locally include: Walking and hiking: Idyllic valleys, soft hills, steep mountains ? the Skiwelt region is a diverse walking and hiking paradise with over 400 kilometres of marked paths for all standards. The Sol Tourist Office arranges several guided walking tours each week. For those who are less energetic, an excellent system of 14 lifts, cable cars and mountain railways interlink the area. A lift and walking pass, valid on all 14 lifts in the villages of the region (including Sol, Scheffau, Ellmau, Going, Brixen im Thale, Hopfgarten, Itter and Westendorf) can be purchased locally. A free bus service, the Kaiserjet, connecting the villages of Itter, Sol, Scheffau, Ellmau and Going, operates from mid June to September. Hexenwasser, or Witches Water, is a magical water theme park located on the Hohe Salve Mountain above Sol. The park features a 450 metre long water-themed walk, with various pools, a water maze and water wheels. It leads to some traditional mountain restaurants offering local specialities, such as home baked bread and locally made cheese. Sol boasts a fabulous swimming and leisure centre, the Panoramabad, which features indoor and outdoor swimming pools, children?s pool, sauna and sun bathing lawns. The scenic Moorsee lake lies approximately 1 kilometre from the village centre and is a popular place for both swimming and fishing (licence required). Cycling, mountain biking, outdoor tennis, squash, horse riding, mini-golf and bowling also available in Sol. The 27 hole Wilder Kaiser Golf Course and the 9 hole ?Kaisergolf? mountain course are located in nearby Ellmau (10 kilometres). A great range of day excursions to nearby places of interest may be booked locally. Destinations include Grossglockner (Austria?s highest mountain), Krimml Waterfalls (Europe?s highest waterfall), historical Salzburg, the Tyrolean provincial capital of Innsbruck, famous salt mines, scenic lakes, impressive castles and palaces.
