Attractions: - Discovery Diving Company: * Full service dive store offering sales, instruction, rentals, and wonderful days on the water with competent caring crews. They are within paddling distance of the Rachel Carson Estuaries Sanctuary and Shackleford Banks, the most southern outer bank of the Cape Lookout National Seashore. Great for after dive outings.
- Beaufort Historical Tour: * Walking tour of selected homes and gardens in Beaufort (North Carolina's third oldest town), which date back to the 1600's.
- North Carolina Maritime Museum: * Large museum containing artifacts, books, historical items on display citing Beaufort's historical sailing tradition.
- Fort Macon State Park: * 160 acre state park with the center of attraction being the historical civil war fort which guarded the entrance to Beaufort and Morehead City. Fort Macon contains a civil war artifact museum.
- North Carolina Aquarium: * The aquarium is located near the resort. Included among the exhibits are The Living Shipwreck, a live Alligator exhibit, and a touch tank.
- Cape Lookout National Seashore: * A barrier island system comprising the southern portion of the famed Outer Banks. Fifty - eight miles of undisturbed beach await hikers and fisherman alike. Access is by boat or ferry only. There is a ferry service located along Front Street in Beaufort.
- New Bern: * The second oldest town in North Carolina is located about 45 minutes from Atlantic Beach. It was founded in 1710 and is best known for its historic district, which includes the Royal Governor William Tryon's mansion, Tryon Palace.
- Crystal Coast Jamboree: * Two hours of high energy entertainment that blends comedy and dancing with everything from country, gospel, oldies, and a patriotic salute.
