• Fort Macon State Park: * 160 acre state park with the center of attraction being the historical civil war fort which guarded the entrance to Beaufort and Morehead City. Fort Macon contains a civil war artifact museum.
• North Carolina Aquarium: * The aquarium is located near the resort. Included among the exhibits are The Living Shipwreck, a live Alligator exhibit, and a touch tank.
• Cape Lookout National Seashore: * A barrier island system comprising the southern portion of the famed Outer Banks. Fifty - eight miles of undisturbed beach await hikers and fisherman alike. Access is by boat or ferry only. There is a ferry service located along Front Street in Beaufort.
• New Bern: * The second oldest town in North Carolina is located about 45 minutes from Atlantic Beach. It was founded in 1710 and is best known for its historic district, which includes the Royal Governor William Tryon's mansion, Tryon Palace.
• Crystal Coast Jamboree: * Two hours of high energy entertainment that blends comedy and dancing with everything from country, gospel, oldies, and a patriotic salute.
