The name Aressana is derived from the script found at the Acrotiri excavations dating back to l500 BC. Archaeologists believe this to be the name of a young maiden that offered gifts to the gods. Housed in a design by celebrated Greek architects, Thomas Gavalas and Dora Monioudi, Aressana has become to epitomize the gracious hospitality that the Santorinian people are renowned for. An opulent breakfast buffet with international and local delicacies is served in the dining room adjacent to the swimming pool between 08:00 ¿ 11:00am. The pool bar provides a refreshing break from the Greek sun, serving light Santorinian meals, while the wood-paneled main bar and terrace is the ideal location for pre-dinner drinks. New additions to the Aressana include the superbly appointed Tefsion Kallos spa, offering beauty treatments attuned to Santorini, and the fitness centre with its state of the art equipment, including 2 treatment cabins, steam room, Jacuzzi, and thermal beds. Guestrooms have all the refinements expected of a fine hotel, while being decorated in a traditional Cycladic style, with a balcony or private terrace. Most of the standard rooms are situated on the lower level, one flight of stairs down from the lobby. All have a small patio outside, with table and chairs for relaxing, and a garden view. Some are located on the upper level with a balcony. Room service, private safe deposit boxes, laundry services, baby sitting and turn-down service are all provided.
