Kufstein is located just 14 kilometres from Austria?s largest interconnecting ski region, the Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser Brixental, and a free ski bus service operates to the nearest main feeder lift in Soll. This area encompasses the resorts of Soll, Itter, Scheffau, Ellmau, Going, Brixen, Hopfgarten, Kelchsau and Westendorf. It offers a wide range of runs for all standards and is ideal for beginners and experienced skiers alike.
In a recent survey on the Top Resort internet platform, the Skiwelt was placed 4th best in a list of 4000 skiing regions worldwide!
A new 8 seater gondola, the Skiwelt-Kitzbuheler Alpen lift, planned to be completed for Winter 2008-09, will complete the final connection in the Skiwelt between the resorts of Brixen and Westendorf. As Westendorf is already connected to Kirchberg (in the Kitzbuhel region), by the Ki-West gondola, this new lift will connect the Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser Brixental to Kitzbuhel-Kirchberg. The entire region, known as the Kitzbuheler Alpen will then be one of the three largest interconnecting ski resorts in the world, and covered by one lift pass, the Kitzbuheler Alpen pass (upgrade on the Skiwelt lift pass).
